Whilst in Cairns last week (was it only a week ago!?) I was invited to co-present Plum Jam Sessions on CairnsFM 93.1 with DJ Yun mei. The show is all about exploring new electronic music on an experimental tip. Being Yun Mei's last ever show I was honoured to be present and select tunes for the occasion. Plum Jam Sessions will continue in Cairns, and you can hear the show streamed at straightup.com.au

Having spent most of my life in and out of concert halls as a patron
(thanks to my parents, grandparents and their season tickets to the
SSO), I am proud to say that I will be on the stage, in the orchestra,
performing synthesiser parts for my first full orchestral composition
on Tuesday 18th July at the City Recital Hall in Angel Place, Sydney.
The piece is being performed as part of a charity concert for the Royal
Flying Doctors.
The piece, described as a "tone poem", is called "Dawn Spree" and inspiration for it was derived from some music i heard in a dream. I have many dreams about flying ,
and in this one I was flying over a typically Australian outback
landscape, as the sun was making its first appearance on the
horizon. As the Royal Flying Doctors spend a lot of time in the
air, i thought it was a befitting piece to perform at the Concert.
