Memories of Miss Memory

my first moog

April 14th, 2006

Last week i put a deposit on my first moog synth , the little phatty. Needless to say i am beside myself with glee to finally be able to own one and its been a long time coming. This cute synth is the barstard child of the Voyager - the synth that bob himself opened up and showed the chuffed boffins at RBMA 03 how it was designed. This analogue boasts 2 oscillators, 100 writable patches and a gorgeous intuitive and simple panel design. In fact the synth is extremely simple and reminds me of the good old days before synths had bells and whistles like hi pass filters, built in vocoders and arpeggiators. It does however, have line input!

other amusing feature’s touted by the website:

The limited run, Tribute Edition of the Little Phatty has special Moog wood side panels, a Bob Moog signature plate across the front and rear, comes with a CD-ROM featuring highlights of the Bob Moog Memorial Celebration Service and a special Bob Moog poster.

Special Bob Moog poster…it probably glows in the dark, hehe.
I can’t wait to put it next to my poster of Wendy Carlos ;)
