millions of twit(ter)s?
March 23rd, 2009I caved and decided to throw myself headlong into twitter world. Only one week old and so far no dramas. But i had to think long and hard about my personal rules of twittering….
this is what i have come up with so far:-
1. mundanity is boring
Unless it’s vaguely informative, keep it to yourself. So you won’t hear me carrying on about how nice the red delicious apple i ate this morning was.
2. be considerate and polite to others
Nobody likes a grump, especially a grump who takes out their bad mood on the interwebz. Sure everyone has a bad day here and there, but it’s really not necessary to twitter it.
3. don’t get too personal
In this very public websphere, it’s best to keep some things to yourself….so sorry no updates on my love life.
4. be yourself
Yes i am a bit of a dreamer, i do have surreal thoughts, and yes i am primarily an artist so as long as the musings of this particular dreamer don’t interfere with the above rules, it’s okay to post nonsense.
But then the confusion comes in as to what is worthy of a twitter post and what deserves a blog post. I am also a big delicious user. How will twitter integrate with delicious is still yet to be decided.
Only a week in and already I am befuddled by all of these questions.
